I grew up painting. My father was a painter, and from the time I was old enough to push a broom, I was on job sites. Interior walls, exterior trim, residential and commercial—painting was part of how I understood work and craftsmanship.
When I left for college at MSU, I stepped away from it. In East Lansing, I found work with a larger painting company—and what I saw there was discouraging. Jobs were rushed. Problems were painted over. Caulk and a coat became a substitute for real prep work.

Now I'm at Michigan Tech in Houghton, doing it the right way. Patina Co. is built on the belief that preparation is everything. Mudding, patching, sanding, proper masking—these aren't optional steps, they're the job.
